Parker Stanberry

Originally from Houston, TX, Parker began his career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch, where he quickly realized that big banking didn’t suit his creative and entrepreneurial tendencies. He then spent 4 years at Miramax Films, followed by a successful food-service project, and in 2006 moved to Buenos Aires to explore opportunities in hospitality and real estate.

Based on his own travel experiences, he decided to create a new concept in hospitality which combined the comforts of a private home with the convenience and service of a boutique hotel, with the mission of providing a truly local, insider experience. He started by raising a fund to buy, design and rent apartments, but soon decided to switch to a marketplace model which took advantage of the huge inventory of underutilized residential property, and founded Oasis Collections in 2009.

Oasis, who pioneered the “Home meets Hotel” category of accommodations, currently manages a network of more than 1,500 design-forward homes in 18 cities in the US, Europe and Latin America as well as members’ clubs in Buenos Aires and Rio. Oasis’ global expansion plans include reaching 30 cities by end of 2016 including its first in Asia; Hong Kong and Singapore and reaching 70 cities by 2019.

Parker was named a high-impact entrepreneur by Endeavor in 2014, and holds a BA in Economics from Duke University, from which he graduated Magna Cum Laude in ’99.
